Giulia Mazzoni was born in Prato, on 15 March 1989 and she studied at the Conservatorio “G. Verdi” in Milan.
In 2013 she made her recording debut with the album Giocando con i Bottoni, with 14 new compositions for solo piano ranging in inspiration from modernity (pop and rock influences) to tradition (Romantic, Impressionist and Minimalist musical influences), and marked by a simple musical language. She was awarded the Premio Ciampi for the best Piero Ciampi cover and performed on stage at the Christmas Concert.
In 2014, she presented several tracks from her album at the opening of Eataly Smeraldo Milano, was a guest at the prestigious Ravello Festival, and performed in Faenza during the MEI – Meeting of Independent Labels.
In 2015, Giulia was the only female artist chosen for the Eataly Live Project (Sony Music) compilation, with her composition Where and When?. She also played as resident pianist for AUDI in Milan, worked with actor Marco Baliani, playing her compositions on the organ for the first time, and she also provided a piano accompaniment for actress Chiara Buratti’s show L’Ultimo Giorno di Sole.
Giulia held many concerts between 2013 and 2015, including those at the Blue Note (Milan) and the Auditorium Parco della Musica (Rome). Giocando con i Bottoni was also released and distributed in China, where the artist performed in a tour of five sell-out concerts that were a huge success, both with audiences and critics, taking in Tianjin, Xi’an, Chongqing, Shanghai, and Wuhan. In 2016, she held a number of concerts and was the star of the Piano City review in Milan, as well as the Naturalmente Pianoforte festival, in Protovecchio Stia (Arezzo).
